Where the Christ Child meets father Christmas – ADVENT

When the days get shorter and the seasonal lighting lends the town centres a magical athmosphere, you know this time of the year has arrived – the scent of hot spiced wine (Gluehwein), hot wine punch (Punch) gingerbread and caramel is in the air and might awaken some childhood memories in many of us.

For Carinthians, visiting the Christkindlmarkt ist not only a delight for their tastebuds. This is also, where social life happens during Advent. Co-workers meet there for an after work „Gluehwein“, or having their very own, private Christmas party. Parents bring their children at the weekends and discover together what their favourite Christkindlmarkt has to offer. It is also a place for doing some serious Christmas shopping, since a lot, from handcraft to kitsch, can be found and might make the perfect gift for your loved ones.

There is a wide variety of Christkindlmarkets all around Carinthia and depending on where you live, for sure you will find some Christmas magic and enjoy the most wonderful time of the year.
