Olympic Day: the path to success

Holiday. International Olympic Day.

Where? Austria and many countries all over the world.

Its meaning and history. Every year thousands of people around the world celebrate the Olympic Day. It commemorates the establishing of the modern Olympic movement on June 23, 1894, organized by the International Olympic Committees (IOCs). The main initiative of the IOC and of all National Olympic Committees was to revive competitive sport and to connect it with the Olympic ideals. Various sports competitions and races take place on Olympic Day around the world.

An Olympic story from Carinthia. Claudia Strobl has been among the elite of the Alpine Ski World Cup for over ten years. Her willpower, tireless perseverance, and belief in herself helped this Olympian and World Cup winner in her success. Despite the injuries and failures, Claudia has made her dream come true. Today Claudia Strobl is an experienced coach and shares her success tips with others.

"I watched the Ski World Cup race live for the first time when I was 11. The moment when my idol Annemarie Moser-Pröll was carried on the shoulders of her fans as a winner, deeply influenced me. It was like magic. My child dream was born: "One day I will become a winner," Claudia says.

Her dream has come true through hard work and dedication. In early 1990, Claudia was among the Top 10 athletes in the world in her particular style of slalom, became a World Cup winner and participated in the Winter Olympics in France in 1992.

“As a former top athlete, I can appreciate the great value of an experienced coach and trainer”, says Claudia. “So I’ve decided to use my personal experience of life in a professional sport to organize my own School of Success. The best of all my knowledge, techniques and tips became the heart of my “The Principles of Slalom”.

Claudia Strobl published together with the bestseller author Kerstin Plehwe a book, ‘So denken erfolgreiche Frauen’ (‘How successful women think’) - 7 Steps to more happiness, success and satisfaction. This book is a guideline for women who want to maximize their personal potential. “With my Olympic background I help women plan their professional success,” the Olympic athlete promises.
