The final year of kindergarten, i.e., the year before children enter primary school, is compulsory. Free kindergartens (Gratis kindergarten) exist for all children 3 years of age or older (mornings only).
In cities and sectional districts there is a selection of kindergartens and schools that you may choose from. In the CIC's welcome package we highlight those care and educational institutions that offer multi-lingual or special alternative pedagogical programmes.
