The final year of kindergarten (the year before children enter primary school) is compulsory. Free kindergartens exist for all children 3 years of age or older (mornings only).

In cities and sectional districts there is a selection of kindergartens and schools that you may choose from. In the CIC's welcome package we highlight those care and educational institutions that offer multi-lingual or special alternative pedagogical programmes.
